Where Fruit Grows,
So Does Hope

At Greenco, we believe our responsibility goes far beyond the fruit we grow. On the social side, one of our proudest initiatives is Angels Nest, the on-site crèche we restored from the ground up with the help of sponsors and our own team. What was once a run-down space is now a vibrant, nurturing haven where the children of our farmworkers receive quality care, early education, and daily nourishment while their parents work. The classroom is filled with toys and learning tools, the garden blooms with dahlias and grass, and the vegetable patch – lovingly managed by Prince, our resident green thumb – provides fresh produce that families can take home. Ronel Serfontein and daycare teacher Verginia work closely together to manage the crèche, creating a safe and stimulating environment. Our commitment to our people also extends to sponsoring the farm’s soccer team, supporting the local church, and helping a young athlete travel abroad for a karate competition.

At the same time, we are deeply committed to the environment. We conserve indigenous veld around our orchards – rich in carbon-storing Spekboom – and restore natural Karoo vegetation on our Steytlerville farm. Our homes on our Karoo farm are fully off the grid, powered by solar energy, and our water usage is carefully managed through drip irrigation. At Greenco, we grow more than fruit – we grow futures, care for communities, and protect the land that sustains us all.
